Well its summer means..Aam Ras on table..what else we need to refreshing..Its enough!!
Aam ras the name derived from sanskrit language where aam(mango) means amra and ras means juice.So precisely its called as Aam Ras.
The main ingredient of the dish is good and fresh mango and only mango …!!
Aam ras where ripe mango pulps mixed with sugar and some nice household aroma served with poori or chapati.But i love to chill it and have it with out any food.
It is a sub-continental dish of india.Also one of the traditional dish of Gujrat.
Its much better than todays chemical based sweet drinks.Though its prepared at home is not only healthy but also gluten free.
When you blend mango to form puree.Then Strain it using a muslin cloth to remove any chunks of mango puree.
It takes very less time and having fun too.After strained your mango puree looks more shiny and delicious too.
Though ripe mango is thread-like impurities containing fibrous material.So all these will be removed after strained the puree.
Some people who want to avoid mango for health purpose, then i would say though its a seasonal fruit,so eating in limit won’t bother your health.

things we need to prepare
- 3 juicy ripe mango (medium)
- 1/2 cup powder sugar (as per taste)
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tsp ghee -optional
As i said the main ingredient of the dish is mango.Choose a ripe and sweet mango only.If they are sweet enough then there is very less use of sugar.
I found a juicy,soft and sweet mango.so i only squeeze and avoid pit/hard seed.Collect the flesh only.
If your mango is not soft but ripen then you just need to peel,pit and cut them into cubes..
Now blend them to fine puree with very less water.You can avoid water also.
A ripe mango is pretty fibrous so use a muslin cloth and strain the mango puree.
Now add sugar and cardamom powder, mix well.
You can add some ghee into it.Now your aam ras is ready to serve.Chill in refrigerator before serve on plate.It goes well with roti or poori ..
