Butter paneer is an authentic dish of indian cuisine where butter fried paneer cubes dumped in creamy spicy gravy of tomtoes and cashews.

It goes well with steamed rice and any indian breads like Nan,paratha or roti.

This is the one dish when you have enough options of paneer dishes to choose ,you can choose it with out any hassel if you are looking for a quick and lip smacking paneer dish.

For Butter paneer we need silght thick pieces of paneer,so that you can be enjoyed the paneer when dumped in cramy spicy gravy. .

While preparing paste for butter masala,blend to a smooth fine paste else you can sieve them in a strainer to get the silky smooth structure for the gravy.

Its very easy and less effort to cook.Beloved by not only adults,kids as well.

BUTTER PANEER MASALA

things we need to prepare

  • 200 g paneer – cut into medium cubes
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tbsp butter cubes (small thick cubes)
  • 2 tbsp clarified butter/melted butter else normal cooking oil
  • 1 tsp kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 4 to 5 green chilies –slitted
  • 2 tsp milk powder
  • oil
  • pinch of  sugar
  • water
  • garam masala

preparing butter paneer paste

  • 3 onions
  • 8 to 9 garlic pods
  • 4 to 5 tomatoes -seeded
  • 6 to 7 cashews
  • 4 to 5 cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 5 to 6 green chilies – you can replace with dried seeded red chilies

garnishing

  • Butter cubes
  • Chopped coarinder laves

1.In a pan heat 1 tbsp butter(cubes),2 tsp oil when butter melted,saute star anise  and cloves .

When the star anise turns dark brown add cashews,garlic pods,chopped onions into the pan.Fry them until the onions are translucent, add chopped tomatoes ,green chilies into it.Fry evenly for some more seconds and add 1 cup of water .

Let the masala cook for 10 minutes over medium flame.Off the gas and let it cool.Remove the star anise and blend it to a fine and smooth paste.Keep it in a bowl.

Milk powder paste

2.In a small pan shallow fry milk powder along with 1 tsp melted butter.Cool it and dilute it with little water.keep the milk paste in a bowl.

In a pan heat 2 tsp   oil, add prepared paste into it.Keep stirring and cook over medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.Sprinkle some sugar,garam masala and stir it.


Mean while cut paneer into thick medium cubes and sprinkle some salt over the cubes.

In another pan heat 1 tbsp butter(cubes) and 2 tsp oil,sprinkle red chilie powder(1/2 tsp), dried fenugreek leaves(1/2 tsp),slitted green chilies and fry them.Add paneer cubes and grilled them light brown both the sides.


Now add milk powder paste into the gravy,rest of kasoori methi and stir it.Pour 1 cup of water and salt into the pan.

When the gravy start to boil add all the paneer cubes into the gravy.Simmer for 1 minute,when gravy start to bubble ,drizzle 2 tsp of melted butter over it.

Off the gas and sprinkle with chopped coriander leaves before serving on plate.
