I was also not a big fan of cabbage like others.But yes I never thought how cabbage can be the star of this recipe and taste fantastic with just a few  ingredients and spices .My loving sister-in-law Arpita….really  magic in her hand makes boring cabbage to an interesting one.An authentic dish of Odisha which I  would like to share with you.

Ingredients:                

1 finely chopped cabbage(about 3 to 4 cups).

1cup shrimps

2tbsp ginger garlic paste

1 medium chopped  onion

½ tsp turmeric

3 green chilli

1 medium tomato

½ cup chana dal (soaked for 2 to 3 hours)

1 tsp garam masala

1tsp cumin powder

1 tsp coriander powder

5 curry leaves

Oil

Chopped coriander leaves

Salt

How to make recipe

Step1:Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan ,stir fry shrimps until turn red in colour and keep aside.pressure cook or boiled chana dal and keep aside.

Step2:In the same pan heat 2tsp of oil, add mustard seeds, green chillies, turmeric ,curry leaves,  they splutter add tomatoes.when tomatoes get soft add ginger garlic paste.

Step3:sauté until the mixture leaves the side.

Step4:now add cabbage ,shrimps ,chana dal ,garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder and cook on high flame for 1minute.

Step5:lower the flame and cook for more 10minutes.

Step6:off the gas and garnish with coriander leaves

Step7:serve hot with roti or rice.

Tips:we can use crushed ginger,garlic green chille instead of making paste
