How about if you get one bowl of millet salad and a glass of juice in your morning break fast..I am sure for a person like me it must be a make your day food..Also for those whom love to make them selves feel energetic and delight.

This tooth some dish is made out of greatness of yogurt along with goodness of pomegranate and many more veggies as well.A whole some dish is not only easy to cook but also a perfect blend of health and taste.

Millets are indeed superior cereals in terms of nutrition and also in terms of sustainability. They are very well in nature friendly production.

For preparing millet salad you need to rinse and discard the water of millets. Millets are very  difficult to rinse ,so just need to clean the dust and rinse them in water.

Boil them in a pot along with water and salt as well.It will take around 10 minutes to cook the millets. Here we a need creamy porridge instead of fluffy cooked millets.

So rather than double the water,i have added one extra cup to get a creamy consistency which is good for making salad.So you need to stir it much frequently to avoid sticking to the pan.

After 10 minutes it will be more mussy and creamy consistency,stir frequently and off the gas.Allow it to cool.

Now add grated carrot,green chilies,onions and few pomegranates mix in millets.

Add yogurt and combine all nicely.At the end seasoning it and sprinkle few crushed pepper corns  to make it more scrumptious.


Little Millet Salad

things we need to prepare

  • 1/2 cup little millets
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 tsp chopped green chilies
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 2 tbsp carrot-grated
  • 1 small onion-finely chopped
  • salt
  • 1/2 tsp crushed pepper corn-sprinkle

For tampering

  • 1 tsp oil
  • !/4 th tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 sprig curry leaves

Instructions

Rinse and clean millets. In a pan boil water,salt  and millets. It will take time to cook until they get soft and form a creamy consistency like porridge.Keep stirring frequently over medium flame to avoid stick to the pan.It will take around 10 minutes to cook ,once done allow it to cool.


Add it to chopped onions,carrots ,few pomegranate seeds,chilies and stir it.Now add yogurt and slight salt.But check the millet before adding salt though we added salt before.Combine all nicely.You can add little water for making it little thick.


In a small pan tamper hot oil along with mustard seeds, curry leaves. Drizzle it over the yogurt millets. Now sprinkle crushed peeper and serve it with any kind of  juice or serve as it is.
