Oats are always incredibly nutritious.Oats idli is one of the quick and healthy ideal breakfast/brunch at home.Made out of oats,curd and vegetables makes the idli more rich and tempting too.It is one of the best option for people who are worried for calories and unable to eat tempting food.Or i can say no more compromise,just grab and enjoy it..


INSTRUCTIONS STEP BY STEP WITH PHOTOS

  • In a bowl add semolina, oats along with curd. Mix them well, if needed add some water. Let soak the oats in the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes. Now blend the prepared mixture to fine puree, you can add little water for smooth consistency. The mixture should not be too runny or thick too.

  •  Add grated carrots, chopped coriander leaves, ginger-chili paste, salt and combine them well.
  • For ginger-chili paste,you need to add a small ginger piece and 2 to 3 green chilies,blend them using little water.
  • You can also skip chili ,only use finely grated ginger paste.

  •  Meanwhile heat ghee/oil in a small pan temper mustard seeds, finely chopped curry leaves, Chana dal, moong dal,cashew nuts and hing.
  • For scrapped coconut always ,scrap the peels of the coconut pieces and blend it.

  •  Pour it into the prepared mixture. Now add scrapped coconut and fruit salt. Also add 1 tsp ghee and whisk it well and sit the batter for 10 to 15 minutes.Adding ghee increase the flavor of the batter.

o Heat 1 cup of water in an idli steamer .Whisk the batter nicely. Grease the idli steamer plates and pour batter into each greased idli mould. Steam for 15 minutes.

o Insert a tooth pick/Poke a fork in the idlis and it will come out without sticking .off the gas.

  •  Allow the steamed  to stand for 10 to 15 minutes. .

  • Remove them with a spoon, sprinkle some water over the idli moulds. This trick helps to come out idli without any break .
  • Serve these light healthy and instant oats idli hot or warm with any chutney/sambar and enjoy!!
