It’s an easy and simple recipe of my grand mother’ s recipe. which she used to cook in my childhood. And I heard the recipe from my father. I tried to do like her. But yes I know no one can beat mothers flavour because not just spices, they have put their love and emotions in the food.

Let’s back to recipe, some people must think twice if we combine paneer and mustard, which I was thought before cook but when I taste it, I understand our predecessor are well known for spices. someone can try at least once in a week or you can enjoy your Sunday lunch with this delicious authentic dish.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 gms-paneer
  • 2-Tomatoes
  • 2- Green chillies
  • 1-Onion chopped
  • Kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves
  • Salt
  • sugar
  • Water
  • Mustard Oil

FOR MAKING MUSTARD PASTE

  • 3 tsp- Yellow mustard seeds
  • ¼ th tsp- Black Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp -puppy seeds
  • 3 – Green chillies
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 -Medium onion
  • 6 to 7- garlic cloves
  • ½ tsp turmeric

Soak all the ingredients in a warm water for 20 minutes and grind to make a fine smooth paste along with turmeric.

Make a fine paste of tomatoes.

INSTRUCTION

STEP 1

Cut paneer into small equal cubes.

Finely chopped onions and silted green chilies.

STEP 2

Heat 2tsp of the mustard oil in a pan until smoking, then take off the heat and wait for 30 secs.

Add green chillies, onions, chili powder and fry until onions are translucent.

Add tomato paste and sauté for 1 minute.

STEP 3

Add mustard paste and fry on medium flame for 2 minutes. Add 1 ½ cup of water to it.when the gravy start to boil, add paneer cubes and pour pinch of sugar to it. Wait for 2 seconds.

STEP 4

Now cook on shimmer for another 5 minutes. Sprinkle some kasurimethi.Serve hot with steamed rice.
