Posto paneer is a creamy paneer recipe which is very closed to my heart.Because i used to eat whenever me and all my family visit to our grand mother’s village in summer,she used to cook such a delicacy with less ingredients for us.Posto and paneer both are one of the staple food of our family.
Whether its fresh or not,you should shallow fry paneer pieces and soak them in salted warm water for 10 to 15 minutes while cooking for posto recipe.
It not only help to reduce the oil and makes the paneer soft though.
While preparing posto recipe,roast poppy seeds, always soak them in warm water at least half an hour,which will help to give you a fine smooth texture of the paste after blend them.
Add puppy seed paste and fry until raw smell goes off.Puppy seeds/posto always make the gravy dry,so if you would like slight thick gravy alway add little more water.
I never like to add coarinader leaves in posto recipes even for garnishing too.But some like to add ,so if you wish to add,you can sprinkle some finely chopped coriander leaves at the end of the dish.
POSTO PANEER GRAVY

things we need to prepare
200 g paneer (cottage cheese )
2 tomatoes (seeded)
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric
posto ground paste
3 tsp posto/puppy seeds
1 tsp melon seeds
4 to 5 green chilies
1 big onion
3 to 4 cloves
Soak all in a bowl with little warm water for 1/2 an hour and blend to form a fine smooth paste
Cut paneer into cubes.Shallow fry them and soak in salted warm water.
In a pan heat 3 tsp of oil,fry chopped onion,green chilies until onions are translucent.
Add turmeric,red chilli, turmeric powder ,chopped tomatoes and fry until soft.Add prepared posto paste and keep stirring until raw smell of the masala goes off.Saute it adding garam masala.
Pour 1.5 cups of water and salt into it.When gravy starts to boil add fried paneer into it.
You should discard the oily water after add paneer into the gravy
Cook on simmer until get a thick consistncy of the gravy.Off the gas and serve hot .
